This presentation presents a glimpse of the processes involved in Charles Klein’s performance-based doctoral research project. Participants will discover new solo repertoire for the oboe generated through the ‘translation’ of songs, originally written for vocalists, into repertoire for the oboe (and its related instruments). In addition to some of the most powerful vocal repertoire the study includes important vocal exercises, the ones which revolutionized the teaching and learning of singing, and it poses the question of what the oboe can learn from them.

Este evento presenta una pincelada del proyecto de investigación que Charles Klein está realizando en su doctorado. Los participantes descubrirán obras nuevas adaptadas al repertorio para oboe a través de transcripciones de obras, originalmente escritas para cantantes, dentro del repertorio para oboe o para la familia del mismo.
